The issue with kitchens....

I must have been missing in action when the genes for cooking were being handed out in our family. Up until I moved out of home, my menu consisted of salads, sandwiches and cous cous.

My signaure dishes include lemon slice and chocolate ripple cake, but of course, neither of these require the use of the oven.

The issue with the kitchen though, is that there are so many things that can go wrong. I mean, what damage can you do in the bathroom? Fall down the toilet? Get your finger stuck in the plughole?

When I moved in with Jenna, I stated up front that the only thing she should let me do in the kitchen is wash the dishes, and even then I should be supervised due to the number of sharp implements (which includes forks!) She didn’t really believe that anyone could be that bad though… until this weekend.

Saturday, while trying to prepare bacon and eggs for Jenna, Darren & myself, the egg carton may have gotten a bit cosy with the open flame on the stove top. Fortunately, the sink was nearby…

Tonight, I opened the oven door to check the chips, and managed to pull it off it’s hinges… Luckily Jenna was home to fix it.

I think she may be watching a little more carefully from now on…
