Meals I Have Been Consuming with Abnormal Regularity Lately:

The Jeeves

  1. 4 slices of dry rye toast or VitaBiscuits
  2. Very thin spread of Marmite
  3. Laughing Cow spreadable cheese wedge. Either regular, French onion, or herb and garlic.
  4. Cut-up bell pepper

Var.:sliced, boiled fresh beets; beet salad (beets, onion, white vinegar, mustard powder, caraway seeds)

The Faux-Erudite

  1. Fresh artichoke, steamed for 20 minutes
  2. 2 tsp. packet of powdered Hollondaise sauce
  3. 4 Tbs. half-and-half

Var.: Bernaise sauce, out of the packet, also works as an edible substitute.

The Greek

  1. 3-4 cups mixed baby spinach, romaine lettuce
  2. 1 Tbs. olive oil
  3. 1 Tbs. Balsamic vinegar
  4. 1.5-2 oz. Feta cheese
  5. Fresh-roasted tomatoes
  6. Nicoise and/or Kalamata and/or dry-cured olives

Sorority Girl Special

  1. Lean Cuisine/SmartOne microwave meal
  2. Diet soda

Var.: Crystal Light, water with lemon and/or lime

Poor-Man Benedict

  1. 2 poached eggs
  2. 2 tsp. Hollondaise powder
  3. 4 Tbs. half-and-half

Living alone means eating the same four-six meals repeatedly. I guess these aren’t such terrible choices?
